Lighthouse Depot Port Eads, LA 1891 Accounting
This is an original United States Light-House Establishment accounting ledger from the U.S. Light House Depot in Port Eads, Louisiana of supplies delivered to lighthouses, post lights and the Lighthouse Tender Pansy for the month ending October 31, 1891. Shown is the front page, (approximately 12 ¼”H x 8”W) which opens to double the size with more accounting, which was then folded over and written on for filing purposes or for mailing to the home office in Washington, D.C. There are tears in the paper where it was folded, but this in no way detracts from the rarity and collectability of this item that is 140 years old. This would make a nice addition to the collection of the discerning lighthouse collector, researcher, or Louisiana historian. It would look great framed in, either a private, or museum setting. It is sold as-is with no return.
