Liebig Extract of Meat Advertising Card late 1800s
This is one of a number of collectible trading cards issued by Liebig to promote their products. It seems that many of their advertising collector cards had lighthouses and other maritime scenes. This one featured a lighthouse, signal flags and a crew preparing to fire a line from a Lyle gun for a life saving rescue. The name of Liebig Extract of Meat was changed in 1899 so we know that this card dates before that time.
